Awake: poetry
A book cover design for a collection of poetry which "is a testament to the strength within us all."
Author Felicia Clark reached out in the process of publishing a poetry book for help designing a cover. During our first design brief, she described the flow of the book and how the prose would be structured in sections representing stages of her life and healing journey.

The design was inspired by that idea. The branches represent the growth she experienced in her journey of learning and growing into herself. The author's own silhouette was used as the poetry and story is deeply personal to her. The branches grow around a background which is dark and void, representing her struggles and trauma. However, layered on top of the dark is her healing—the branches—flowing through the colors of each stage of the author's life and healing journey.
